![]() ![]() Multiplayer, I'd say EL is better because people can play the Cultists and Necrophages effectively.ĪoW3 is finished as in it is at the end of its development cycle whereas EL is likely going to get more attention from the devs. EL is poor in this department but you can play it on Endless difficulty where the AI gets truly outrageous bonuses in everything or play online. The AI can actually play all these different factions and use special abilities to great effect. Where AoW3 wins hands down is its tactical AI. I'd say it also trumps (but just and no more) with regards to unit models and music. Where EL wins hands down is on city building. There's NO contest here. I play all four of these games and they're nothing alike. :) Neither of them are like Civ 5 either. That's a daft comparison even if it is being compared to an EXCELLENT game. In fact, neither have trees as such but there are in fact many more spells to research altogether than EL has considering that there are class spells as well as for the various masteries.ĪoW3 is NOT like XCom any more than EL is. AoW3 has a spell tree at least as big as EL's tech tree. ![]() Further, many of these spells have, IMO, more interesting in-game effects than many of EL's techs that give a +10 Gold city improvement for example. First, AoW3 IS a 4x game:Įxploit? Some people think tnhis is where AoW3 is weak but there are so many treasure/special sites to exploit that it actually has this in spades too.Įxterminate? AoW3 is very, very good at this part ) The best.ĪoW3 doesn't have techs but has spells of different tiers. Personally, I think Endless Legend is the better game. If I had to make comparisons I'd say Endless Legend is closer to Civilization and AOW 3 is more like X-Com. It has a tiny, tiny technology tree that isn't even worth mentioning, and the city building is equally slim. Originally posted by Strandly:I don't really consider AOW 3 a 4x actually. ![]()
